We are suggesting a base for the burgers to which you can add your creativity and ingredients to match your taste.
- 1 big onion or 2 small onions
- 2 big garlic cloves
- 200gr of kidney beans
- 200gr of chickpeas
- 200gr of mealworms
- 200gr of oats (small or big flakes)
- Salt and pepper according to taste
Add the garlic and the onions to the blender and blend.
Add the kidney beans, the chickpeas, the mealworms, the salt and pepper at taste and blend.
Remove the mix from the blender to a bowl. Add the oats and mix until a it is well incorporated. If not satisfied with the texture, add more oats to the mix.
Form the burgers and fry in a deep pan with oil and butter.
Serve with burger buns, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and any other additional ingredient that will match your taste.
Note: since the oats absorb the humidity in the mix and it will turn softer, we recommend adding the oats only to the quantity that is going to be consumed right after. If the quantity is extra, add the oats only when preparing the burgers for consumption. In addition to the oats, cauliflower can also be used for adding the more texture to the burgers.
